If you are looking for a new Internet Service Provider: you can have ours
by Karel Thönissen
Life of a young company is made miserable by large corporations. No I, do not mean competitors, I mean the telcos and ISPs that are supposed to provide you a service. This time it is the Dutch branch of Euronet, a subsidiary of Wanadoo, that is unable to process their mail and phone calls within a reasonable time. Six weeks ago we have sent them two letters.
The first letter asked for correcting the information they keep about us in their administration. Although all our prior correspondence used the correct data, they had managed to misspell the name of our company, my name and the company address. They did not act upon the phone call a few weeks before that, but now it seems they do not act upon anything at all. Yesterday I recevied their bill, still containing the incorrect information.
The second letter was a request to wrap-up our change of ISP. This one really pisses me off: it costs us money and valuable time. The letter was a sequel to an earlier letter posted on 2003.09.25. They did some of the required administrative changes, but not all of them. Therefore, I reiterated my request on 2003.11.03. Since then I have spoken numerous times with people at the sales department and at the support department, but to no avail.
To make matters worse, to do not even reply to official (snail) mail that they had to sign on receipt.
I really should stop paying them anytime soon, and keep this log alive for a very long time...
Next time I should tell you about KPN, UPC, Verisign and commercial banks.
